Inspiring political participation workshop in Hamburg last weekend

16 students with newcomer background, 2 facilitators and 2 co-facilitators (former participants) from all over Germany gathered in Hamburg to get ideas of ways to poltically engage in the German society and raise voices for diverse and rather unheared populations. From Friday to Sunday (Oct 11th to 13th), participants exchanged on first biographical points in time where each of them encountered politics in any possible way in Germany, defined politics and narrow but also broader definitions of it, got first insights into tools to better participate in political contexts and brainstormed ideas to have an impact on societal debates themselves. Discussions became extremely lively when participants acted as professional politicians in a talk show. The workshop weekend found a creative end with participants presenting their ideas to make a change in their local and broader community.
